MARTA is the most cost-effective way to travel in
Atlanta, and the most convenient, with a wide variety
of fares and passes available to meet each rider's
needs. Regular riders can choose from several TransCard,
Half Fare or individual token rates, while out-of-towners
can utilize a specially-priced visitor's transit
pass. It's good for unlimited travel aboard the
extensive rail and bus system. The regular fare
is $1.75 for transportation throughout the system
and may be paid with tokens or exact change. Tokens
can be purchased individually or in rolls of 10
at the entrances to MARTA stations or at all RideStores.
It covers one-way bus or train trips, including
transfers. Bus riders may drop tokens or exact cash
(bills or coins) into the fare box near the driver,
or may slide their weekly or monthly TransCard through
the electronic card reader. Ask the driver for a
transfer ticket when you board. Thanks to a mild
climate and beautiful landscape, Georgia is an ideal
place for year-round outdoor activities.
