If
you haven't been to metro Detroit in a
while, you might be surprised at all of
the changes. The metropolitan area is
one of America's hottest locations for
new development. General Motors Corporation
is working on improvements into its five-tower
Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit.
Two new attractions debuted at the Center
in 2000.

The
GM World exhibit gives an up-close auto show-style
look at many of the company's new and classic
vehicles. Just a short walk away, the new Center
Court Café features 17 restaurants. On the horizon,
GM plans to add more than 130,000 square feet
of new downtown shopping space - inside the new
Wintergarden. The completed atrium offers spectacular
views of the Detroit River and will open to a
beautifully landscaped boardwalk next year. Detroit
is home to three land based, Las Vegas style casinos.
Each offer 75,000 square-feet of gaming space,
great restaurants and entertainment. This MGM

Flurries of Cash are in the forecast at Greektown
Casino! Casino Windsor™, located in Downtown Windsor,
overlooking the Detroit River and Detroit Skyline,

live entertainment and five restaurants to choose
from. MotorCity Casino includes two entertainment
venues, and proudly showcase a wide variety of
the best in local entertainment seven days a week.
Chromatics, an intimate lounge on the first floor,
features a state-of-the-art sound system that
allows many of those out on the gaming floor to
enjoy the show without leaving the action. The
Campus Martius project will redevelop five blocks
between Detroit's stadium district and riverfront
into a center for stores, offices and entertainment
venues.

The Compuware Corporation's
headquarters will anchor the development.
Campus Martius is expected to significantly
increase the amount of retail shopping available
in downtown Detroit. Construction has begun
- completion scheduled for early 2004. The
Detroit Tigers' new downtown baseball stadium
opened for business in 2000. More than baseball,
the park features a number of extras aimed
at making an afternoon or evening at the
ballpark fun for the whole family. That
list includes a Ferris wheel, a dancing
water fountain and a carousel that helped
get the stadium voted "America's most family-fun"
new ballpark in Sports Illustrated magazine.
