The
Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is
one of the city's most popular attractions drawing
hundreds of thousands of sightseers and fun seekers
every year. Mesa
Verde National Park is within easy driving, and
the San Juan Skyway provides a scenic driving
tour of the region. Many residents and visitors
utilize Durango's parks for fishing, weddings,
picnics and other special events. Many parks are
used to host public events such as antique car
shows, sporting events, concerts and culinary
fairs. Activities include scenic glider, fishing,
golfing, horseback riding, mine tours, rafting,
there is something for every one to enjoy. Scenic
Glider Rides run May 15th through October 1st,
allowing one passenger per sailplane with F.A.A.
Certified Pilot. Sailplanes are towed aloft by
a power plane to an altitude of 9,000 to 9,500
feet, and then released. As you soar like an eagle
back to the glider port, you will be able to see
the beautiful San Juan mountains, around 100 miles
of scenery in any direction, plus the Animas River
winding through the valley. With four sets of
tees situated on this feisty 7,000 yard layout,
the design of the Dalton Ranch course captivates
all levels of play. The rare blend of the river,
ondulating terrain and splendid vistas make Dalton
Ranch a grand course to play.
The underground world of the hard rock miner is
rarely seen by "outsiders." Now
you, too, can go "on shift" and see the earth
from the inside out. A
one hour guided tour takes you 1/3 mile into Galena
Mountain where you follow the vein and learn how
mining was done. On
our rafting adventures, whether it is the soothing
sound of a babbling brook or the heart-pounding
roar of a frothy river, there's something about
rivers that draws people to run them in whatever
vessel they can get their hands on.

From the days of hand-carved
wooden canoes to today's commercial float
trips, we've always found a way to get down
the river, and more people every year are
giving it a try. Experience Colorado's winter
wonderland, where the air is so thin you
can see your breath and the country is so
beautiful, it will remain forever a memory.
Outlaw tours provides two of the best locations
for your enjoyment, located on Cascade Creek
and the world class resort at Tamarron where
the views will astound you.
