Located
in the center of Summit County, just minutes
from a half-dozen major resort areas,
Frisco is the year-round, central location
for enjoying all the Rocky Mountains of
Colorado have to offer. "If I'm dreaming,
don't wake me ..." That is the natural
reaction the first time you see Lake Dillon
through the morning mist. Or the towering
Colorado Rockies after a light dusting
of fresh powder. This is Colorado, just
as you hoped it would be !
|
|
|
| And
this is one of the few places left where you can
experience it - the friendly, historic town of
Frisco, Colorado. Frisco
is your base to explore the entire region; to
hike and to bike, kayak and sail, ski and snowboard
at six world famous resorts just a snowball toss
away. So get your fill of scenery. Then get ready
to have one of the best vacations you ever had
in your life !If
it feels like heaven, it's because we're pretty
close to it. Activities in Frisco are as varied
as our visitors. Some prefer leisurely-paced summer
recreation during mild, humidity-free days --
-- while others embrace Frisco as a winter wonderland
and enjoy our world-famous light powder and nearby
access to six major ski resorts. Whatever season
you enjoy, Frisco has an activity for you. The
Frisco Historic Park offers visitors a chance
to experience life in Frisco in the 1880's. The
Park contains eight historic buildings including
Frisco's original 1881 Jail, Log Chapel, a recreated
Trapper's Cabin, Schoolhouse Museum, and four
homes circa 1880's. Three of our buildings are
homes to some of Frisco's finest crafters. With
more than 35 kilometers of trails for skiers of
all abilities, the Frisco Nordic Center is considered
one of the best in Colorado.

|
|
Located at the Peninsula Recreation Area,
the Nordic Center is at once convenient
and authentic, offering a first-class facility
for skating, classic skiing and even snowshoeing,
all in a true Rocky Mountain setting. A
variety of lesson programs are offered,
along with rental and demo equipment, and
each season the Nordic Center hosts several
races for all types of competitors. The
Nordic Center is typically open from mid-November
to early April.
While strolling Main Street take advantage
of shops, restaurants and bars along Frisco's
eclectic retail corridor. If elegant dining
or just calling out for pizza is what you
crave after a day of outdoor activity, again
Frisco covers the spectrum. After you've
enjoyed Historic Main Street, don't miss
Summit Boulevard, where a diverse selection
of shopping, dining and other business services
are available.
