Discover
color that only nature can create in the fall flowers
and canyon oaks as they prepare for the coming winter
season. See winter clouds hanging heavy over the
Canyon after a fresh snow, lifting like a theatre
curtain to reveal nature's newest spectacle. In
every season the Grand Canyon is a spectacular vision.
The breathtaking beauty of the Grand Canyon, one
of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, is like
nothing else you will ever experience. Within its
vast expanse and awesome depth, there is an ever
changing panorama or color, from the first light
of day until the sun sets on the distant horizon,
concluding the melodrama until another day. Petrified
Forest is a surprising land of scenic wonders and
fascinating science. The park is located in northeast
Arizona and features one of the world's largest
and most colorful concentrations of petrified wood.
Also included in the park's 93,533 acres are the
multi-hued badlands of the Chinle Formation known
as the Painted Desert, historic structures, archeological
sites and displays of 225 million-year-old fossils.
Located entirely in northern Arizona, the Grand
Canyon National Park, a World Heritage Site, encompasses
277 miles of the Colorado River and adjacent uplands.
One of the most spectacular examples of erosion
anywhere in the world, Grand Canyon is unmatched
in the incomparable vistas it offers to visitors
on the rim. kostenlos filme schauen, freier.

The
area known as both Tuweep and Toroweap, is
on the northwest rim of the Grand Canyon in
the remote Arizona Strip. The Kanab Plateau
rises sharply to the east, while the volcanic
Pine/Uinkaret Mountains form the western margin
of Toroweap Valley. The view from Toroweap
Overlook, 3000 vertical feet above the Colorado
River, is breathtaking; the sheer drop, dramatic!
Equally impressive are the volcanic features,
cinder cones and lava flows, which make this
viewpoint unique in Grand Canyon National
Park. Renowned Lava Falls Rapid is just downriver
and can easily be seen and heard from the
overlook. Toroweap, a Paiute term meaning
"dry or barren valley," refers to many local
features, including the geologic formation
and fault, the valley, and the overlook. Tuweep
came into use to describe the local white
settlement and later the park district. Tuweep
in Paiute refers to "the earth," but this
place name may be derived from a longer Paiute
word meaning "long valley." A visit to this
area can be challenging, but rewarding. Since
the National Park Service manages the area
for its primitive values, improvements and
services are minimal.
Come to Grand Canyon and experience a once
in a lifetime adventure !
