In
Miami, you're likely to hear the language
and sounds of many cultures; dine in ethnic
restaurants and take a mini tour of the
world. Although this sophisticated destination
boasts miles of wide, white sand beaches,
Miami offers much more. Visitors can have
a cup of café con leche in Little Havana,
Miami's Cuban community;

stroll
past art deco architecture in the city's artsy
South Beach district (dubbed SoBe); explore trendy
Coconut Grove; visit attractions such as the Miami
Seaquarium and the Miami Metrozoo, or take a cruise
from the "Cruise Capital of the World." Miami
cuisine stands out by itself. It may be the least-known
regional cuisine in the world, but those who know
it, love it. Floribbean
cuisine is just what it sounds like -- a fusion
of Floridian and Caribbean tastes and styles. But
you won't find it on any trendy nouvelle cuisine
menus. Floribbean cooking combines the distinct
tastes of coconut, mango, peppers, bananas, plantains,
fruits, nuts and curries into a cuisine that blends
a mix of tastes both subtle and striking. Take
advantage of our fantastic Floribbean dishes.
. . you won't find anything this refreshingly
different back home. To most Florida natives,
72-degree water is a bit chilly for swimming,
but for the gentle manatee it's bathwater. In
1916, when wealthy industrialist James Deering
moved into his 34-room villa, Vizcaya, Miami's
population was a mere 10,000. Today, Vizcaya remains
one of Southeast Florida's greatest treasures.
Furnishing and decorative arts throughout Vizcaya
were carefully chosen to represent the Renaissance,
Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical styles, creating
an illusion that the villa had been lived in by
the same family for 400 years. Visitors may tour
the villa and grounds every day but Christmas.
Nightlife
is both sophisticated and varied here. Among so
many others, Coconut Grove is the place to be.
A place to experience exquisite dining and shopping
along with world-class hotels. Home to the historic
Coconut Grove Playhouse, where theater and dance
come together for your entertaining enjoyment.

Coconut Grove offers a cosmopolitan village
setting where you can indulge with a visit
to distinguished art galleries and cutting
edge bars and nightclubs. The King Mango
Strut Parade, a fun and light hearted parade
filled with satirical interpretations of
local public figures. The Commodore Block
Party; what could be better than fine dining
and beautiful art and music under a cover
of stars. These are but a few of the many
year round events held in the village.
