With
more annual snowfall than Utah or Colorado, nearby
Lake Tahoe's resorts guarantee skiing and riding
fun into late spring. Which is why you can hit
the slopes in the morning and golf in the afternoon
at one of our 30 golf courses, even in March!
Rand McNally rated the Reno / Lake Tahoe area
the #1 destination in America for outdoor recreation!
Of course, you don't have to ski, golf or even
gamble to have a great time in the Reno / Lake
Tahoe area. There's plenty of activities and attractions
for the whole family. Tour through time and see
the role the automobile has played in society
at the National Automobile Museum. Thanks to the
non-stop action, Reno nightlife always offers
something fun and exciting for locals and visitors.
There are great dance clubs, rowdy country and
western bars, cool lounges and continuous cabaret
entertainment. Stroll the streets of downtown
at night and bask in the glow of Reno's famous
arch, welcoming visitors to "The Biggest Little
City in the World". There are casinos lining both
sides of the Virginia Street corridor beckoning
people to try their luck on the slots or sitting
at one of the tables. Some of the greatest entertainers
in the world have graced Reno's stages - Sammy
Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra and Debbie Reynolds. They
gave way to Wayne Newton, Engelbert Humperdinck
and Lou Rawls. On any given weekend you might
have a chance to see Smash Mouth, Ted Nugent,
Dwight Yoakam or Dennis Miller live onstage. Many
original productions explode onstage nightly in
Reno, including sultry adult productions like
"Whisper" or action and magic-filled family entertainment
like "Carnival of Wonders". The
"Broadway Comes to Reno" series brings shows like
"Ragtime," "Annie" and "Cabaret" to the Pioneer
Center for Performing Arts, home to the Nevada
Festival Ballet, Nevada Opera, and Reno Philharmonic.

There is always a quiet
hideaway in Reno as well, listening to a
jazz trio in a cozy lounge or enjoying a
romantic view of downtown from the mountains
over a glass of champagne. Entertainment
is not just an indoor activity in the Truckee
Meadows. The Hawkins Amphitheater at Bartley
Ranch and the Wingfield Park Amphitheater
downtown provide outdoor venues for the
performing arts, including the annual Artown
festival. Deciding on how and when you want
to be entertained in Reno is the only difficult
decision you will have to make.
